The 2018 Serbian Golf Outing and Dinner will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018, for the benefit of the Serbian Cultural Garden in Cleveland, Ohio.

Golfers will begin their round with a shot of Šlivovica, enjoy 18 holes of golf at the challenging Sleepy Hollow Golf Course in Brecksville, and be served a tasty Italian lunch buffet on the turn. The winning team will receive a grand prize of a catered dinner (with their significant others) in the Serbian Cultural Garden, along with merchandise prizes (Winning team will have option of taking cash equivalent of dinner).

The dinner is open to both golfers and non-golfing guests and will be held the same evening at St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church Hall, 2151 West Wallings Road, Broadview Heights, Ohio 44147. Golfers and non-golfers will enjoy great food, music, dancing, a raffle and plenty of Šlivo.

The annual Serbian Golf Outing raises necessary funds to help maintain the Serbian Cultural Garden and provides an opportunity to add new busts of historically significant Serbians to the garden. The Serbian Cultural Garden now includes a bust of Milutin Milankovic – (a great Serbian astronomer, mathematician and scientist). Additionally, there are busts of Vuk Karadzić, Nikola Tesla, King Peter I, Bishop Njegoš, Mihajlo Pupin, Stevan Mokranjac, Mileva Marić and a life-size icon of St. Sava. Later this summer, a new bust of Nadežda Petrović – the most important Serbian female painter of the 20thcentury and founder of the Serbian Circle of Sisters – will be dedicated in the garden.

The Serbian Cultural Garden is one of nearly 40 gardens of The Cleveland Cultural Gardens that are located along Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and the adjacent East Boulevard in Cleveland. They are a national symbol of peace and cultural diversity and are unique in the world. Although each garden was designed to reflect its respective cultural significance and heritage, the central theme has always been “peace through mutual understanding.”
